Through thick and thin: seamless metaconceptualism

Abstract One major insight derived from the moral twin earth debate is that evaluative and descriptive terms possess different levels of semantic stability, in meanings former but not latter tend to remain constant over significant counterfactual variance patterns application. At same time, it common metanormative divide into those are thin thick. In this paper, I combine debates about stability distinction between thick by presenting a new seamless inferentialist account which, despite subsuming them under metasemantic analysis, can nevertheless for their varying stability. According position ‘seamless metaconceptualism’, do belong categories, both understood as metaconceptual devices which differ kind, scope. By providing analysis terms, metaconceptualism only entails cannot shoulder philosophical work some have attributed them, also removes much surrounding intrigue.
